Ariane was born and spent her childhood surrounded by the Boreal Forest in Quebec, Canada. Regularly and from the youngest age, she was brought along with her siblings to travel in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Oceania, or living on a sailboat on the East Coast of the USA and in the Caribbean.
Always interested in all things natural and feeling like she needed to understand the natural world to make a difference and help preserve it, Ariane graduated in 2001 from McGill University in Montreal with a major in Wildlife Biology. After a stay in West Africa, she decided to pursue her studies with a Master’s in International Relations from Laval University in Quebec City, during which she focused on food production and security.
Life brought Ariane to Tacoma in 2010, where she has been busy raising her three children. While trying to understand how to treat a skin issue experienced by one of them, she discovered Ayurveda, India’s ancestral medicine. It has since been a real passion of hers. With Ayurveda, all things natural come with order, and food and cooking, which had always been part of Ariane’s life, become a way to heal oneself.
After years of using Ayurveda for her own and her family’s benefit, Ariane decided to make it her profession by enrolling in an Ayurveda Health Counseling program with Joyful Belly School of Ayurveda. She loves how Ayurveda helps with an endless array of issues, from digestive troubles to acne, weight loss, or autoimmune disorders management.
Good health starts with good digestion, which is Ariane’s main interest. She recently launched a program to help people manage their IBS.
She also wants people to know how Ayurveda can help them and how to implement it into their daily life. Her program Seeking Balance: a Yearlong Ayurvedic Journey teaches Ayurveda’s fundamental principles along with the seasons.
In her spare time, Ariane likes to spend time with friends and family, walk and play with her dog, work on graphic design projects, play the recorder, sing, and dance.
